The Official Inauguration of the Academic Year 2017/2018 at Poznań University of Economics and Business was held on 29 September 2017 in the PUEB Main Hall.

Participants of the opening ceremony of the academic year included, among others: Senator Piotr Florek; dr hab. Sebastian Skuza, the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; dr hab. Cezary Kochalski, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland; Marek Woźniak, Marshal of the Wielkopolskie Province; Marlena Maląg, Deputy Governor of the Wielkopolskie Province; Mariusz Wiśniewski, First Deputy of the Mayor of the City of Poznań; Jan Grabkowski, Poznań District Governor; Grzegorz Ganowicz, Chairman of the City Council of Poznań as well as representatives of diplomatic posts and rectors of other universities. In addition, numerous students and employees of our University also arrived at the PUEB Main Hall.

The inaugural lecture on “Migration forecasts for the 21st century” was delivered by prof. Frederic Docquier from Universite Catholique de Louvain.
