The Institute of International Business and Economics employs over 60 scholars conducting research on a wide range of issues in international economics and business. The Institute consists of seven departments: the Department of International Economics, the Department of International Competitiveness, the Department of European Studies, the Department of International Management, the Department of International Marketing, the Department of International Finance and the Department of International Supply Chains.
The Institute of International Business and Economics continues research works started by the previous Faculty of International Business and Economics from which the Institute emerged after the implementation of a new Law on Higher Education and Science introduced in Poland in 2018. Among 63 scholars in the Institute there are 24 senior researchers, including 8 full professors. In the academic year 2019/20 there are 12 doctoral students in the Institute.
Employees and doctoral students in the Institute are members of many well-known national and international research associations. In many of such bodies, they are active as executive or scientific boards’ members. These are such associations as Polish Economic Society (PSE), European International Business Academy (EIBA), Academy of International Business (AIB), International Trade and Finance Association (IT&FA), Industrial Marketing and Purchasing Group (IMP), Regional Studies Association (RSA), International Strategic Management and Managers Association (ISMMA), Tourist Research Center (TRC).
The Institute's educational activity includes conducting lectures, workshops, and seminars for bachelor and master students of international business and tourism. Institute’s staff members are not only lecturers but also designers of various post-graduate courses, including Executive MBA (Master of Business Administration) run in cooperation with Georgia State University (Atlanta, USA).
