Conducting tests and examinations during the period of suspended on-site classes in connection with preventing the transmission of coronavirus

 

The Rector of the Poznań University of Economics and Business orders as follows:

 

§ 1

  • During the suspension of on-site classes carried out at PUEB, verification of achieved learning outcomes, carried out in the form of final test or examination, is carried out using information technologies, ensuring control of their progress and recording.
  • To carry out the test/ exam, one should use the tools available on the Moodle platform or in the MS Teams application.
  • With the consent of the head of the department it is allowed to use other information technologies, used to verify the learning outcomes achieved, provided that they allow the identification of the person taking the test / exam, ensure personal data protection, control progress of the test / exam and allow its recording.
  • If the exam is registered in the form of a recording, this recording should be secured in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR. The right to record a test / exam is only granted to the person conducting the test / exam. The examiner is obliged to inform the student taking the test/ exam about recording it

§ 2

  • The execution of the test/ exam should ensure independence of the student's work.
  • In the event of irregularities found during the test/ exam, the examiner may, after prior warning of the student committing a violation, order that the student's test/ exam be stopped, which results in him/ her failing the test/ exam.
  • If the connection between the student and the examiner is lost during the test/ exam, the examiner decides to either retake the test/ exam or issue a mark, provided that in his or her opinion (taking into account the current progress of the test/ exam) it is possible to make a reliable assessment of the applicant's knowledge.
  • The student who lost the connection during the test/ exam is obliged to report this fact to the examiner within 24 hours of taking the test/ exam at the latest by email, from their own e-mail address (NIU@student.ue.poznan. pl), otherwise the student will get a grade based on the test/ exam result until the connection was broken.

 

§ 3

  • Not later than 14 days before the planned date of test/ exam, the instructors will inform the students about the form of the test/ exam and will indicate the technical requirements necessary to participate in the verification of achieved learning outcomes.
  • A student who, due to IT issues is unable to participate in test/ exam must report this fact to the teacher at the latest by June 5, 2020. The student will be required to take the test/ exam in the manner specified by the examiner.

§ 4

This ordinance applies to credits and exams completing courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies in the summer semester of the academic year 2019/2020;

§ 5

The execution of the summer examination session at the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies in the academic year 2019/2020 is supervised by the proper Directors of Studies.

§ 6

In case of issues not regulated by this ordinance the provisions of the Regulations of Studies at the Poznań University of Economics and Business shall apply.


 

Conducting a diploma examination during the period of suspended on-site classes in connection with preventing the transmission of coronavirus

 

 

The Rector of the Poznań University of Economics and Business orders as follows:

§ 1

  • During the suspension of on-site classes, it is possible to conduct the diploma examination in a form of an online session, in which the student and the examination board participate in the examination at the same time, but in different places.
  • The online diploma exam takes place through the use of the MS Teams platform.
  • The diploma exam may take place provided that both the student and the members of the examination board have the technical possibility of participating in the exam remotely in the manner specified in this ordinance.
  • The diploma examination using MS Teams takes place at the student's request. A template of the application is attached to this ordinance.

§ 2

1.       The procedure of conducting an online diploma examination is as follows:

  • the student sends the diploma thesis in pdf format together with a declaration of independent preparation of the thesis to the supervisor by e-mail, from his/ her own student e-mail address (NIU@student.ue.poznan.pl); after accepting the result of the anti-plagiarism check, the promoter sends the result along with the diploma thesis and the student's declaration of independent preparation of the thesis, to the Student Services Office (BOS) to the following address: bos@ue.poznan.pl; at the same time, the supervisor sends the thesis in pdf format to the reviewer/reviewers;
  •  The paper version of the thesis intended for the files and a signed statement on its independent preparation (after prior telephone appointment) shall be submitted to BOS or posted by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt before the deadline for defending the diploma thesis; thesis supervisor shall promptly deliver to the BOS the signed anti-plagiarism result signed by him/ herself;
  • the student sends the application referred to in § 1 para. 4, from the student's own email address (NIU@student.ue.poznan.pl) to the relevant director of studies;
  • the application referred to in item 3 is reviewed by the relevant director of studies and, if it is approved, in agreement with the supervisor, reviewer and student, sets the date of the diploma examination, i.e. the date and time of the beginning of the examination; BOS notifies the student and examination board members about the date of the exam by e-mail;
  • the date, form and scope of the diploma examination must comply with the Regulations of studies at PUEB;
  • The Head of the Examination board  creates in the MS Teams calendar a meeting entitled "Diploma exam - student's album number";
  • on the day of the diploma examination, the Head of the examination board establishes a connection with the supervisor, reviewer and the student; the Head of the board enables recording of the MS Teams diploma exam in order to document the procedure and informs all participants about it;
  • during the diploma examination the student must have a camera and a microphone turned on in his or her computer;
  • before the diploma examination, the head of the examination board verifies the student's personal information on the basis of the student's ID card or other photo ID and informs the student about the consequences of finding irregularities in the course of the exam, resulting from the student's behavior (in particular indicating a lack of independence in during the exam) or interrupting the connection for technical reasons before the exam ends;
  • at the request of the head of the examination board, the student is obliged to provide a screen view of his computer;
  • if the connection between the examination board and the student or between the members of the board is broken during the examination, the head, in agreement with the members of the commission, decides:

a) to retake the exam at another time or
b) to resume the examination if the interruption of the connection was short-lived, or
c) to complete the exam and issue the grade;

 

  • in the event of the exam interruption, the decision to continue it after a break, to repeat it at another time or to assess the student without repeating the exam, is noted by the head of the examination board in the diploma examination report referred to in point 15;
  • after the public (examination)  part of the exam, the student is disconnected;
  •  after reconnecting with the student, the head of the examination board shall announce the result of the diploma examination or the result of the diploma examination and the final result of studies together with the decision on granting the appropriate professional degree;
  • after reconnecting with the student, the head of the examination board shall announce the result of the diploma examination or the result of the diploma examination and the final result of studies together with the decision on granting the appropriate professional degree;
  • the head of the examination board, on the basis of the examination record prepared, immediately draws up the report referred to in point 12 and signs it;
  • issuing a diploma to the student, the head of the examination board delivers to BOS the original signed examination report; the other committee members sign this report as soon as they receive information about its submission to the BOS.

2.       The procedure referred to in para. 1 points 3-16 also applies to a student who:
a) he obtained an unsatisfactory grade from the diploma exam and cannot retake the exam in the traditional form due to restrictions on the University's activity,
b) repeats the diploma examination in connection with the loss of the connection during the examination referred to in para. 1 point 12 a).
