Scientific Conference Bibliometric Analyses of Open Science

Konferencja naukowa Bibliometryczne analizy Otwartej Nauki

The University Library of Poznań and the Scientific Communication Laboratory of Adam Mickiewicz University are delighted to invite you to the First Poznań Conference of the BUP Scientometric Centre titled “Bibliometric Analyses of Open Science,” scheduled for April 18-19, 2023.

The conference is held under the patronage of A. Mickiewicz University’s Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Katarzyna Dziubalska-Kołaczyk. The event will have a stationary character. We invite you to the Collegium Minus of the Adam Mickiewicz University at 1 Wieniawskiego Street in Poznań.

The conference theme focuses on using bibliometrics to study the openness of science. Bibliometric indicators are used to analyse the progress of science and its institutions, as well as to evaluate publications, the scientific output of researchers, or entire universities. They can also be used to analyse how different aspects of Open Science are put into practice and evolve. Also noteworthy in this context are the new alternative metrics that are being introduced to assess the image and social influence of scientists and the institutions that employ them.

On the first day of the Conference, a panel discussion “Academic Libraries as Centres of Competence” is scheduled to address issues related to libraries’ involvement in Open Science and bibliometric activities.

The event will be preceded by a bibliometric workshop, and separate registration is necessary for it. Seating is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The conference is intended for researchers, graduate students, librarians, and academic and project staff.

We encourage you to actively participate in the Conference and give a lecture – we have included detailed information in the tab – Information for speakers.
