Preparatory Course
The course is a suitable language improvement program for students who wish to prepare for further academic study at Poznan University of Economics and Business.
Preparatory Course for studies conducted in English or Polish
The Preparatory Course is available in two variants: Polish or English.
This is a language course aimed at candidates who have completed secondary school or university studies but do not have the B2 level certificate required for admission to studies conducted in this language.
This course lasts 9 months (October – June) and ends with a language exam.
The course mainly offers language classes (writing, reading, grammar), as well as additional subjects (mathematics, presentations, management) to familiarise students with the language of instruction in a given field.
The Preparatory Course is available in two variants: Polish or English.

The course concludes with an examination to obtain a certificate confirming proficiency at level B2.
Program
1. Language Classes – Level B2
This module aims to develop advanced communication skills necessary for academic and professional success. The curriculum includes:
- Speaking – developing oral fluency
- Listening – comprehension of academic and business contexts
- Reading – working with specialized and academic texts
- Writing – academic and formal writing skills
- Grammar – intensive revision and consolidation
- Presentations – preparing and delivering presentations
- Conversations – Business English – practical business communication
- Conversations – Technical English – specialized technical language for STEM-related studies
2. Major Subjects (3 compulsory modules)
Participants choose three modules depending on their intended field of study. These courses prepare students for university-level academic work.
For Bachelor’s studies candidates
- Mathematics I
- Introduction to Economics
- Introduction to Management I
For Master’s studies candidates
- Mathematics II
- Physics
General module – available to all participants
- AI / IT Tools – introduction to information technology and artificial intelligence
3. Additional Subjects
These modules support cultural integration and help students adapt to studying and living in Poland.
- Intercultural Communication
- Polish Culture / History and Knowledge About Poland
- Get to Know Poznań – sightseeing, short trips, and local exploration
To enrol in the Language Preparatory Course, candidates must submit:
- Completed application form
- Copy of passport
- Secondary school certificate (or higher-degree diploma, if applicable)
- Final secondary school exam results or official university transcript of records
- Introduction video
- Proof of payment of the registration fee
- (Optional) Certificate of previous language learning — if the candidate is not a complete beginner
- NAWA Recognition (Nostrification) for applicants from outside the EU, EFTA, or OECD, if required for further admission procedures.
