AITransformations - Fake news detection using generative artificial intelligence

On February 24th at 12:30 PM in room 111A, the fourth AI Transformations seminar will take place. This time it’ll focus on the automatic detection of fake news. Poland is among the leading European countries exposed to a high number of disinformation attacks, which can lead to serious consequences for social, economic, and political order. Current fact-checking methods, which involve verification by specialized agencies, are time-consuming and limited in scale, resulting in only a small percentage of false content being detected.

In response to this challenge, tools are being developed where artificial intelligence plays an increasingly important role, enabling both automation and an increase in the effectiveness of the information verification process. During the seminar, the research team from the Department of Information Systems will present the results of the “OpenFact” project conducted at PUEB. The project has developed advanced solutions utilizing AI that support the identification of potentially false content published on the Internet.
