Routledge has published a book entitled “Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability. From Values to Impact,” prepared under the editorship of a team that included PUEB female scientists: dr hab. inż. Magdalena Kaźmierczak, prof. PUEB and dr hab. Magdalena Stefańska, prof. PUEB.
Routledge is one of the most prestigious scientific publishers in the world, and one of the highest scoring by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science (MEiN) (level II according to the List of MEiN Publishers, which taking into account the increase for the social sciences field means 300 points.)
The monograph presents selected theoretical and practical aspects of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development, with a focus on the transition from value to impact. Values play an important role in the business world and shape an organization’s responsible approach to management. Reaching for higher values does not exclude the possibility of expanding profits, getting rich and growing the organization. However, the urgent and still unresolved challenges of the modern world show that there are significant discrepancies between declarations of organizations on accepted values and their actual impact. The COVID-19 pandemic, Globalization 4.0, the climate catastrophe and the goals defined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pose new challenges for today’s organizations. In effect, business is both a part of the problem and a part of the solution. It is therefore necessary to take quick and effective actions that take into account the potential of responsible business to co-create human life and the environment.
Both theoretical considerations and empirical research presented in this monograph make important contributions to theory and practice of management. The book expands and enriches the existing knowledge of socially responsible management in organizations.
This is a valuable publication for researchers, scientists, professionals and students in the field of business and management, especially for those who are interested in socially responsible management and sustainable development, and for those who focus on the environmental impact of business activities.
