Enrolling in the Lending Library
Lending Library: provides textbooks and set books (recommended and compulsory).
In the Lending Library, you can:
- borrow books to take home,
- request a copy (also from other domestic and foreign libraries) of publications unavailable in the PUEB Main Library and other libraries in Poznań (service available to PUEB students, PUEB PhD students and PUEB employees),
- renew the validity of the Reader Account,
- return borrowed books,
- settle a clearance slip.
To enroll in the Lending Library:
- come to the Lending Library in person,
- fill in and personally sign (in the presence of a librarian on duty the enrolment declaration),
- present a document: identity card and student or doctoral ID card.
For those setting up an account, there is an option to use the Library’s self-enrollment form, which you can find in the online catalogue tab “Reader’s account” – click on the “No account? Sign up” button. Filling in the form will reduce the time it takes to complete the formalities at the Lending Library.
Reader Card
The document confirming enrolment in the Lending Library is a Reader Card, which is one of the following:
- the electronic or mobile PUEB student ID card,
- PUEB doctoral student ID card,
- reader card – issued to authorised users who do not have a PUEB student/doctoral student ID card.
The Reader Card enables you to:
- use the Lending Library,
- access your Reader Account,
- remote access to databases from computers, phones, tablets, etc. not connected to the PUEB network, located outside the Main Library and PUEB buildings *.
*This access can be used after logging in by UEP employees, doctoral students and students with a valid reader account.
Reader Account
The Lending Library sets up an e-Reader Account for each person who has enrolled. This can be used from the time of enrolment until the end of the current academic year (31 October).
After the end of the academic year – if the user is still interested in the services of the Lending Library – they do not have to sign up again, they just need to extend the validity of their account.
You can check your account balance and its expiry date yourself on the Internet via the Library’s online catalogue.
Once in the catalogue, select the tab: Reader Account and log in by entering:
- reader card number (album number if the entry was made on the basis of m-Student ID or 8 digits located below or above the barcode on a student ID card or Reader card),
- your password (4 digits – the default password is 2 digits of the month and 2 digits of the day of your birth date, e.g. 1130).
