It is obligatory to have health insurance in order to obtain a primary healthcare in Poland.

You can choose between:

1. Voluntary insurance in National Health Fund (NFZ):
using this kind of insurance most state-funded health services are free of charge, including public hospitals or general medical test centers. You can be only extra charged at the dental services or for extra broad-developed tests. To apply for such insurance, please use this link below:

2. Foreigners who have a visa for the purpose of conducting scientific research cannot sign the voluntary NFZ insurance, they are obliged to choose insurance from the private companies.There is a great variety of private insurance companies in Poland,

3. If the researcher carries out research work under an employment contract, all compulsory insurance contributions are paid.
