One of the most recognizable football referees of the 21st century – Howard Webb – met the football fans on 17 May 2017 at the Poznan University of Economics and Business. The arbiter presented his own point of view on some of the most important football matches in his career, and explained in detail the problems of modern refereeing, in which every decision made within a fraction of a second is immediately analysed and assessed by millions of viewers in front of TVs.
In 2010 Howard Webb, as the first referee ever, was honoured to referee both the Champions League final and the World Cup in one season. He finished his career four years later, taking up the post of the technical director of English referees.
His visit in Poznan was related to the promotion of the Polish translation of his autobiography.
