Department of Strategic Management

The Department of Strategic Management aims to conduct scientific research in strategic choice processes and the formation and monitoring of the strategic effectiveness of business entities. The research concerns, among other things, strategic capabilities related to conditioning the organisations’ adaptation to changing operating conditions, strategies, business models, methods and techniques for managing organisations under conditions of uncertainty, and information support for management processes.

About the Department

Research on applying project management in the adaptation of the process of strategy implementation and execution should be considered extraordinary. Among the fundamental ones are studies of the evolution of the concept and practice of strategic management of organisations. The Department employees teach at first- and second-level studies, doctoral school, and postgraduate studies. While carrying out statutory research and teaching tasks, the Department staff takes advantage of their professional relationships with the community of economic practitioners. Conversely, the knowledge and skills of the Department employees are used by them in supporting the activities of businesses and non-profit organisations. On the initiative of the Department employees, postgraduate courses in project management are offered, which are popular every year. The various types of postgraduate programmes are targeted at participants with different interests and levels of professional experience in project management.
