ShopLab
The ShopLab is a mock-up of a convenience store. The laboratory is equipped with a number of shop fittings such as a fruit and vegetable rack, a refrigerated display case for fresh and processed meat, a bakery display case, promotional display racks, high and low shelving, as well as a cash point. In the laboratory the ambient conditions can also be controlled. The temperature, intensity of the light and the type of music can be set according to requirements. The laboratory is also equipped with sophisticated neuromarketing devices such as a mobile eye-tracker, electrodermal activity detector and an object movement tracking system.
The ShopLab is used for educational as well as research purposes. The Lab will be used to teach participants in Bachelor, Master and post-graduate studies various subjects relating to merchandising, consumer behaviour etc. Due to the above mentioned sophisticated equipment, the laboratory can also be used to carry out research on in-store consumer behaviour.
