Completion of the CENETSIE project

An international conference closing the CENETSIE (the Central European Network for Sustainable and Innovative Economy) project, headed by dr hab. Barbara Borusiak, prof. PUEB, from the Department of Trade and Marketing, was held in Prague on 12-14 September 2022. The partner university in this project is the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.

The goal of the project was to spread a new way of thinking about resources, carrying on business and the economy itself. As part of the project activities, tools were created to deepen the knowledge of students – future decision-makers in economic processes – about the need for radical sustainability principles and the innovations that foster this approach. The new paradigm is not about relentless economic growth, but about sustainability, which can be achieved primarily through innovative solutions and behavior of organizations and consumers.

In addition to PUEB, the conference was attended by representatives of partner universities:

• The D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, Svishtov,
• Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra,
• Prague University of Economics and Business,
• Czech University of Life Sciences Prague,
• University of Zagreb,
• University of Szeged.

The meetings included a presentation of the project’s results to date. These, among others, include:

• submission of proposals for research projects, including the creation of a network in the CEEPUS program, for a grant in the Erasmus+ program, and a grant from the International Visegrad Fund,
• developing and testing a strategy game on running a business according to the concept of sustainable development http://cenetsie.ue.poznan.pl/strategic-games-in-education/ ,
• completion of workshops on strategy games, storytelling and film education,
• completion of workshops on E-learning and the creation of educational materials, sustainable development  and innovation,
• organizing a film competition for students at partner universities on sustainable development and innovation, http://cenetsie.ue.poznan.pl/movie/,
• preparation of six e-books for use in teaching, available online http://cenetsie.ue.poznan.pl/educational-materials/,
• developing an online survey tool and platform http://cenetsie.ue.poznan.pl/research-tool/,
• implementation of internships by employees and doctoral students of partner universities,

The project ends on September 30, 2022, and is funded by NAWA (National Agency for Academic Exchange).
