PUEB students came 2nd in IMA 2024 Student Case Study Challenge
A huge success for our students on the international stage! A standing ovation fully deserved!
Four our students from the Quantitative Finance course and the specialty of capital investment and corporate financial strategies: Sarudazai Chiya, Thao Dang, Zakarias Larsson and Piotr Skrzyniarz were 2nd in the international IMA 2024 Student Case Study Challenge, among universities from across Europe and Central Asia.
They were one of 6,000 teams that competed for a place on the podium. Despite the overwhelming number of competitors, they managed to come out on top in the IMA European and Central Asian Championships.
The participants were tasked with correctly identifying the appropriate classification of investments using accounting standards and making the necessary entries in the company’s financial statements.
– The key to the success of the team from UEP was the knowledge we gained in our studies, practical experience, communication between team members, division of tasks and leadership,” said Zakarias Larsson, just after the result was announced. – Each of us did our part very well. Rehearsals in front of the class, constructive criticism and feedback gave us a lot. We were also motivated – we were driven by the desire to win and put our names and the name of our university on the list of winners.
The students were substantively supported Professor Katarzyna Perez.
