Winners of the OPUS 22 + LAP/Weave competition
Two competitive proposals submitted by PUEB researchers with partners from the Czech Republic received funding under the OPUS 22 competition organized by the National Science Center. These are:
The project entitled “Small farms and short food supply chains under crisis conditions – the example of the COVID-19 pandemic,” led by dr. hab. Sebastian Stępień, prof. PUEB, and prof. dr hab.inż. Libor Greg, project manager on the Czech university side (Mendel University in Brno). The project focuses on the effects of participation of small farms in short food supply chains in Poland and the Czech Republic during the crisis, with a particular focus on the crisis caused by COVID-19. The results of the project enrich the knowledge on the relationship between short food supply chains and the vulnerability, resilience and sustainability of small farmers in emergency situations, as well as on the factors driving small farmers’ intentions to participate in short food supply chains. The project can support policymakers in preparing recommendations for small farms and economic policies for emergency situations.
The project entitled “Entrepreneurial orientation of Polish and Czech non-governmental organizations during a pandemic,” led by dr. hab. Paweł Mikołajczak, prof. PUEB and dr hab. Gabriela Vaceková from Ambis University in Prague. The main objective of the project is to study the influence of the Polish and Czech institutional environment on the entrepreneurial orientation of non-governmental organisations. The study will provide important information to public authorities on what tools to implement to support the non-governmental organisations sector to enable them to operate more effectively, mainly during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
