Department of Accounting and Financial Audit
The Department of Accounting and Financial Audit is staffed by distinguished professionals with recognised academic achievements and reputations in various areas of accounting, including chartered accountants. We are active in four areas regarding science, teaching, cooperation with national and international scientific centres, and cooperation with business practice.
About the Department
The main objective of the Department’s activities is to conduct high-quality scientific research, set trends in national research and contribute to world knowledge in accounting. The staff teach accounting, reporting and auditing subjects at undergraduate, postgraduate master and MBA levels. Teaching activities aim to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and the ability to apply it in practice. The Department manages the ACCA Accounting and Financial Management specialisation, accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, which enables our graduates to gain a competitive advantage in the job market. The Department implements national and international research projects. We cooperate with major Polish and foreign research centres, including those in Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary. Representing accounting as an applied science, we also cooperate with economic practitioners and institutional and social partners, including the EAA, the Polish Chamber of Statutory Audits (PIBR)t, the Accountants Association on Poland (SKwP), the Polish Economic Society (PTE) and the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).
