Professor Elżbieta Gołata elected Chairwoman of the Committee on Demographic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the term 2024-2027
On March 7, 2024, the inaugural meeting of the Committee of Demographic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences was held in the new term 2024-2027, during which elections to the Committee’s Presidium were organized.
The Chairwoman of the Committee was Professor Elżbieta Gołata, and deputies Professor Jolanta Grotowska-Leder and Professor Ireneusz Kuropka. The Honorary Chairwoman is Professor Irena E. Kotowska and the members of the Presidium of the Committee were: Professor Monika Stanny, Professor Paweł Kaczmarczyk, Professor Jan Brzozowski. The committee’s scope of activities covers the following fields: social sciences, humanities, medicine and health, serving to integrate scientists from all over the country. Research on population processes, their various conditions and consequences (social, economic, environmental, medical and cultural) concerns in particular research areas assigned to: demography and statistics and econometrics, drawing on the achievements of various disciplines (economics and finance, socio-economic geography and spatial management). , political and administrative sciences, sociological sciences, psychology, history, health sciences).
