Department of Logistics
The Department of Logistics originated from the former Transport Economics Department at the Institute of Spatial Economy (1977-1991), from which the Department of Logistics and Transport at the Faculty of Management was separated. In 2006, at the initiative of Professor Elżbieta Gołembska, the Department of International Logistics was established at the Faculty of International Business and Economics. In 2019, both logistics departments of the Poznań University of Economics were merged, and since then, research and teaching activities have been conducted by the Department of Logistics.
About the Department
The Department currently employs 7 independent scientific workers (including 3 titular professors) and 7 workers with a doctoral degree, as well as 4 doctoral students. As a result of international contacts, the Department also cooperates with visiting professors, most recently with Prof. Dr. A. Zafer Acar from Piri Reis University in Istanbul and Prof. Dr. Batuhan Kocaoglu from Piri Reis University in Istanbul.
Faculty members of the Department of Logistics conduct numerous educational activities, particularly in the following fields:
- Logistics (bachelor studies, full-time and part-time)
- Digital supply chains (master studies, starting in October 2025)
- Logistics and Supply Chains in Industry 4.0 (postgraduate studies)
