Awards in the 29th Competition for the Best Theses in the field of Business Informatics
People affiliated with the Department of Information Systems were among the laureates of the 29th Edition of the Scientific Competition organized by the Scientific Society for Business Informatics (Polish abbr. “NTIE”) for the best theses in the field of business informatics. The competition covered bachelor’s, engineering, master’s, and doctoral theses defended in 2025.

In the master’s thesis category, Mikołaj Tym won first place for his thesis entitled “Uncertainty-Aware Q&A System: Enhancing Reliability with RAG and Embeddings”. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Krzysztof Węcel.
The following awards were presented in the bachelor’s/engineering thesis category:
- Second place: Mateusz Gruntkowski for his thesis entitled “Using NLP for the Detection and Classification of Cyberbullying in Online Comments”. Supervisor: Prof. Agata Filipowska.
- Third place: Sebastian Chmielewski for his thesis entitled “Modeling Passenger Car Depreciation Using Machine Learning Methods”. Supervisor: Prof. Agata Filipowska.
