Towards graduation

In this page, you'll find information about seminar groups, how to write a thesis, APD system, final examination ("thesis defence"), diploma etc.
  • A thesis = a scientific paper related to your study programme. In Poland, you have to finish it to graduate and receive the “licencjat”/”magister” title. It requires a considerable amount of time&effort, includes a lot of scientific literature, conducting some studies, writing and revising.

A thesis supervisor = a professor to guide you through the whole process, until you graduate. Each Bachelor and Master student has to write their own thesis, therefore, everyone chooses their thesis supervisor individually.

A seminar = a course focused on writing a thesis.

How to join a seminar group?

    1. Check out the offer for your study programme.
The chart includes thesis supervisors, the maximum number of students in the supervisor’s group, main topic of the seminar, requirements.

    2. Contact the supervisor(s) whose group(s) you’d like to join for their consent.
If one of the requirements is to contact the professor via e-mail, use your PUEB Outlook account for that and remember to state what programme you’re studying (e.g. Finance, 1st cycle/Bachelor, full-time studies).

    3. If you received the consent, register in the seminar group in USOS.
USOS -> log in -> STUDENT’S SECTION -> Registrations -> Registrations for courses -> choose the appropriate seminar group and register (e.g. by clicking on the shopping cart icon).

Start of registration in USOS: 17th November 2025 00:01 (Monday)
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: 23rd November 2025 23:59 (Sunday)

You may contact multiple thesis supervisors listed in the chart, but you can only join one seminar group.
If more than one of the contacted professors agreed, choose one seminar group and register for it in USOS, then let the rest of the supervisors know that, despite their consent, you decided to join a different seminar group!
Do not register for a group in USOS without the supervisor’s consent!
If you don’t get consent from any of the listed supervisors and fail to register in USOS before the deadline, the Study Director will choose a random seminar group for you to join.
