Between the Floors of Everyday Life - a photo collage art exhibition by Mateusz Sobierajski
Join us for the „Between the Floors of Everyday Life” (“Między piętrami codzienności”) exhibition, featuring surrealistic photographic collages by Mateusz Sobierajski, a graduate of the Poznań University of Economics and Business. The display will be on view from 14.10.2026 to 4.01.2027 in the Reading Room of the PUEB Main Library.
The exhibition comprises 17 works created using the artist’s own photographs taken in the city of Poznań. The artist transforms familiar places, buildings and elements of the urban landscape into surprising, multi-layered compositions. He creates a surreal vision of the city in which architecture, nature and daily life intertwine to form a new, unconventional reality.
Through his creative imagery, Mateusz Sobierajski blurs the boundaries between the real and the imaginable. In his works, distinctive Poznań locations take on new meanings, encouraging viewers to discover the city from a different perspective.
About the author:
Mateusz Sobierajski (b. 1993) – a graduate of the Poznań University of Economics and Business, photographer, digital artist and a travel enthusiast. For six years, he travelled across various continents, seeking inspiration in the landscapes, cultures and everyday lives of local people. These experiences shaped his artistic sensibility and his interest in the relationship between humans and the space they inhabit.
He currently focuses on making surrealistic photographic collages inspired by Polish cities, particularly Poznań and Warsaw. By combining architecture, historical details and elements of the contemporary cityscape, he forms multi-layered compositions that prompt reflection on identity and the transformations of cities.
Each work is created solely on the basis of the artist’s own photographs and without the use of artificial intelligence.
