Ceremony of awarding an honorary doctorate to Prof. Dani Rodrik
On 3 December 2025, a ceremony was held to award an honorary doctorate from the Poznań University of Economics and Business to Professor Dani Rodrik.
Dani Rodrik is one of the most respected economists in the world. He has worked for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, one of the auxiliary bodies of the United Nations. He has served as a consultant to the World Bank on numerous occasions, and in 1990 he was also an advisor to the Polish government. He lectures at Harvard University on a daily basis. His academic interests include international economic relations, economic development issues and political economy.
During the ceremony, speeches were given by Prof. Barbara Jankowska, the supervisor of the proceedings, Prof. Marian Gorynia, and the reviewers, Prof. Katarzyna Szarzec and Prof. Adam Noga from the Kozminski University. The main point of the ceremony was a lecture by Prof. Dani Rodrik entitled Globalisation: Where did we go wrong and can we fix it? The event was concluded with a short concert of Chopin’s works performed by Przemysław Witek.
Professor Dani Rodrik is the twenty-eighth person to be awarded an honorary doctorate by the Poznań University of Economics and Business.
