Conference of Rectors of Universities of Economics (CRUE) in the University of Economics (UE) in Katowice

May 24, 2022

From 20 to 22 May, the University of Economics in Katowice, headed by Rector, prof. dr hab. inż. Celina M. Olszak, hosted rectors associated in the Conference of Rectors of Universities of Economics.

The CRUE is composed of the rectors of the five public economics universities associated at the same time in the CRASP (Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland). The chairman of the CRUE is prof. dr hab. Maciej Żukowski, Rector of the Poznań University of Economics and Business.

During the CRUE meeting, among other things, the universities’ involvement in helping Ukraine was discussed, and an agreement was signed by CRUE representatives to adopt new regulations for the Transekonomik student mobility program.

Transekonomik is an inter-semester student exchange program involving five economic universities in Poland. It allows universities to send 8 students every semester to other partner universities. This allows students to experience the specifics of studying at another economic university. They have the opportunity to educate with different academic staff than at their home university, which promotes the diffusion of knowledge. Recruitment for the program for the winter semester of the 2022/23 academic year will take place from May 23 to June 13 this year.

In order to offer students the opportunity to develop in an academic environment different from their home environment, the newly adopted regulations of the Transekonomik program, which is covered by the signed agreement, gives participants the opportunity to live in dormitories for the duration of the exchange; the cost of accommodation is covered by the university hosting the student in question.
