International IMP Forum Seminar at the Poznan University of Economics and Business

On June 12–13, 2025, the international scientific event IMP Forum Seminar took place at the Poznań University of Economics and Business.

The IMP Forum Seminar is an international academic event that combines the development of scientific papers with intensive, constructive scholarly discussion. In its unique format, each paper receives two in-depth reviews, and instead of presenting their own work, authors listen to how it is interpreted and assessed by other researchers. This approach provides participants with valuable feedback, significantly increasing the chances of publication in the renowned Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing (Emerald). The seminar fosters knowledge exchange and supports academic development.

The event was jointly organized by the Poznań University of Economics and Business, the international research network Industrial Marketing and Purchasing Group, and the editorial team of the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing. On behalf of the university, the organizing teams were the Department of Business Relationships and International Marketing (Dr. hab. Milena Ratajczak-Mrozek, Prof. PUEB, and Dr. Aleksandra Hauke-Lopes) and the Department of Marketing Strategies (Dr. hab. Grzegorz Leszczyński, Prof. PUEB).

The seminar gathered 51 participants from Poland, Europe and other parts of the world.

The conference began with a plenary session, during which Dr. hab. Milena Ratajczak-Mrozek, Prof. PUEB, spoke on behalf of the organizers. This was followed by a keynote speech from Professor Debbie Harrison (BI Norwegian Business School), Chair of the IMP Group, who presented the group’s scientific achievements and outlined future directions for this international research community. Another keynote speaker, Professor Antonella La Rocca (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), editor of the Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, discussed the journal’s profile, editorial process, and expectations for submitted articles.

The program then continued with 12 academic sessions, during which 30 papers were discussed, each receiving a dedicated 45-minute discussion slot. This structure facilitated the improvement of submitted manuscripts, exchange of ideas, and initiation of new research projects. The event was also unique in its integration of scholars from different generations, with experienced professors offering guidance and support to early-career researchers. As a result, the seminar became a platform for intensive academic collaboration, inspiring participants to engage in further research and foster international cooperation.

The event was supported by by funds granted by the Minister of Science of the Republic of Poland under the „Regional Initiative for Excellence” Programme for the implementation of the project “The Poznań University of Economics and Business for Economy 5.0: Regional Initiative – Global Effects (RIGE)” and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the NAWA Partnerstwo Strategiczne program, project BNI/PST/2023/1/00082, and co-financed with funds granted by the Minister of Science of the Republic of Poland.
