Prof. Beata Woźniak-Jęchorek reappointed to the board of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy
Professor Beata Woźniak-Jęchorek from Department of Macroeconomics and Development Studies has been re-elected to the Council of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE) for the 2026–2028 term.
The European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE) is an international, pluralist scholarly association that brings together researchers working in institutional and evolutionary economics. Established in London in 1988, the Association has approximately 500 members and is currently the leading European organization representing heterodox economists, as well as one of the largest economic associations in Europe. Its mission is to advance pluralist approaches to economic analysis that emphasize the role of social institutions, technological change, uncertainty, market–state relations, and environmental constraints.
EAEPE publishes the Review of Evolutionary Political Economy in cooperation with Springer and is a co-owner of the Journal of Institutional Economics, published by Cambridge University Press. The Association also maintains active collaborations with a range of international organizations, including the Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE), the Institute for New Economic Thinking, and the Young Scholars Initiative, thereby fostering global dialogue on heterodox economic thought.
In her role within EAEPE, Beata Woźniak-Jęchorek contributes to the organization of the Association’s annual activities—such as conferences, summer schools, and seminars—and coordinates three prestigious academic awards:
- The EAEPE William Kapp Prize (awarded annually for the best journal article),
- The EAEPE Joan Robinson Prize (awarded biennially for the best monograph in evolutionary and institutional economics),
- The EAEPE Herbert Simon Young Scholar Prize (awarded annually for the best conference paper by a young scholar).
Her re-election to the EAEPE Council underscores recognition of her sustained commitment to the Association and her scholarly contributions to institutional and evolutionary economics.
