Accessible and friendly Library
Facilities in the Library for People with Special Needs:
- Portable Induction loops – available at the user service stations in the Lending Library and Reading Room,
- Height-adjustable Desks – available in the Reading Room and in Room 220 for people with disabilities, situated in the Lending Library,
- Explore 5 Electronic Magnifier – located in the Reading Room,
- Visio 22+ Deskopt Magnifier – located in the Reading Room,
- four pairs of noise-cancelling headphones – available for users at the User Service Point in the Reading Room,
- Computer Station with Specialized Keyboard and Software for people with vision impairment or low vision: Dolphin Screen Reader, ZoomText MagReader, ABBYY FineReader PDF Standard, and Plustek OpticBook A300 Scanner – located in Room 220 for people with disabilities, situated in the Lending Library,
- Self-service Book Return Drop – located on the ground floor in the lobby of the Collegium Altum building,
- TOTUPOINT Markers – a list is available on the website.
The Main Library is located in the Collegium Altum building, which offers the following architectural accessibility features:
- a wheelchair-accessible ramp,
- automatically opening entrance doors,
- elevators,
- calling system for peoples with disabilities, located near the elevators,
- a toilet adapted for people with disabilities, available on the ground floor,
- room signage in Braille,
- a lowered counter in the cloakroom on the ground floor,
- evacuation chairs.
Access to the Collegium Altum building and all its areas, including the Library, is permitted for assistance dogs and guide dogs.
Near the building, there are at least two designated parking spaces for vehicles used by peoples with disabilities.
