Terms and conditions

The PUEB Main Library collects collections from all disciplines of knowledge practised at the University of Economics, with particular emphasis on publications in economics, management, commodity studies and related sciences.

 

The library provides access to its printed collections:

  • on site – in the Reading Room,
  • through external loans – in the Lending Library.

Reading Room:

  • provides access to: books, journals, newspapers and weeklies, government journals, doctoral theses, scientific journals, dictionaries and encyclopaedias, specialist collections, statistical publications,
  • you can use the following on-site:
    – printed collections,
    – desktop computers,
    – databases,
    – online catalogue,
    – self-service scanner,
    – rooms for teamwork,
    – librarian assistance in researching information.
  • The Reading Room makes its collections available on-site in various categories, which are appropriately lettered and colour-coded,
  • the printed collections are available in the Reading Room  :
    – free access to shelves (locate the book yourself),
    – repositories: place a request at the User Service Point to the librarian on duty. Requests are processed on an ongoing basis.
  • the books in free access are arranged on the shelves by their signatures (you will find them on the back cover of the books, handwritten on a barcode sticker),
  • journals (current and retrospective) are arranged by title.

 

Who can use the Reading Room?

  •  if you are over the age of 15, you can use the Reading Room even if you do not have an active Library Account,
  •  you do not need to sign up,
  • at the entrance, simply mark your presence (X) on the visitors’ list.

 

Lending Library provides textbooks and set books (recommended and compulsory).

In the Lending Library, you can:

  • borrow books to take home,
  • use the last copy of any title on site,
  • request a copy (also from other domestic and foreign libraries) of publications unavailable in the PUEB Main Library and other libraries in Poznań,
  • activate or renew a Reader Account,
  • return borrowed books,
  • settle a clearance slip.

Who can use the Lending Library?

  • PUEB employees, PhD students and all other PUEB students
  • PUEB Academic Track students (of legal age only)
  • retired PUEB employees,
  • employees and students from the following associations of The Poznań Science Library Foundation (Poznań University of Technology, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań University of Economics and Business, University of Medicine, University of Life Sciences, Academy of Music, Academy of Physical Education, Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Art),
  • employees of Raczyński Library and Poznań Society of Friends of Science.

 

Multi-search engine and online catalogue:

  • include information about our collections and how to access them,
  • when searching for the literature you need, pay attention to the signature of the selected item, the collection it is included in, its location and availability,
  • the Multi-search engine will allow you to browse not only the online catalogue, but also most of the online databases subscribed to by the Library.

General rules in the Library:

  • before your enter, leave the following in the cloakroom on the ground floor: outerwear, jacket, backpack, handbag, food and drinks (water is allowed),
  • if you prefer not to leave your personal belongings in the cloakroom, you can use the self-service lockers which are located in the Reading Room and Lending Library,
  • silence your phone and do not make phone calls, if possible,
  • never leave your belongings unattended.
