Department of Applied Mathematics
The employees of the Department conduct research in a wide spectrum of applications of mathematics in finance and economics. The research areas include financial econometrics, financial engineering, machine learning, risk management, fuzzy sets and their application in economic sciences. Research works are interdisciplinary, and their results are published in many prestigious international journals.
About the Department
The Department implements numerous grants financed by the National Science Center and the National Center for Research and Development.The employees of the department conduct classes in full-time and part-time studies, both bachelor and master level. The subjects taught include mathematics, financial mathematics, actuarial methods, stochastic processes, probability theory, mathematical statistics, derivatives pricing, risk management and subjects in a foreign language for English-language specializations and majors. The employees of the department take care of the speciality of financial engineering.
