Department of Education and Personnel Development

The Department of Education and Personnel Development has more than 20 years of experience in research and teaching. Our work combines an interdisciplinary perspective with a strong focus on current and emerging challenges in education, career development and the labour market.

Our research explores the factors shaping career and professional development, with particular attention to education and the non-profit sector, as well as different groups in the labour market. We are also interested in how labour market transformations affect education, skills development and professional careers.

Our interdisciplinary team brings together expertise in economics, management, education, psychology and philology. This diversity allows us to approach education, work and professional development from different perspectives and to combine insights from several academic disciplines.

An important area of our activity is academic staff development and the improvement of teaching and learning. Since 2011, we have designed and delivered the University Teaching Course for Early-Career Academic Staff at Poznań University of Economics and Business (PUEB). We also offer the Academic Teaching Development course for experienced university teachers. The Department currently runs postgraduate programmes in Psychology in Business and Sports Management.

Our team is actively involved in national, regional and international research projects and regularly participates in international academic conferences. We collaborate with universities and research institutions in Poland and abroad, including partners in Switzerland, Czechia, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany, China, Slovakia and Portugal. Our network also extends beyond academia to non-profit organisations, public institutions and local government.

Members of the Department contribute their expertise to numerous committees and advisory bodies and are regularly invited to participate in expert groups and collaborative initiatives. Through these activities, we aim to connect academic research with practice and contribute to the development of education, organisations and the labour market.
