Antonella Pasqualone

Antonella Pasqualone is Associate Professor of Food Science and Technology at the University of Bari, Italy, where teaches “Cereal technology”, “Food quality and safety certification” and “Food technologies”. She is member of the Quality assurance group of the Master course in Food Science and Technology and departmental coordinator for several Erasmus agreements in the Food Technology field. She is among the founders of the Inter-Departmental Research Center of the University of Bari aimed at Cooperating for the Development of extra-EU Countries (CPS). She is a Fellow of the Brussels Institute of Advanced Studies (BrIAS), at Brussels (Belgium). Habilitated as Full Professor, she is scientific responsible of several national and international projects related to cereal-based foods and published 242 articles in refereed international journals (source = Scopus database), with h-index = 40 (May 2023).

Harshadrai Rawel

Rawel, Harshadrai M. is a Professor and Head of Department of Instrumental Analysis in Nutritional Science from Institute of Nutritional Science in University of Potsdam. He has a Ph.D in Food Technology /Biochemistry of Cereals obtained at the Faculty of Food Science & Technology of the Humboldt University to Berlin and he completed his Master of Science for Food Science and Technology with specialisation in Technology of Cereals at the Humboldt University to Berlin from Germany. Acquired professorship in the field of instrumental analytical methods in nutritional science in 2010. He worked as an scientific officer in German Institute for Human Nutrition and Tanzania National Scientific Research Council. He has published more than 100 peer-review articles (h index 32 Scopus). His research focusses on the utilization of proteomics and mass spectrometry in the diverse areas of food science and technology including especially nutritional aspects, food chemical and biochemical characterization as well as development of food analytical methods and techniques.

Romdhane Karoui

Romdhane Karoui is a Professor at the Artois University and Responsible of BioEcoAgro Joint Cross-Border Research of Artois University. He is the author or co-authors of more than 250 technical articles, including more than 130 refereed journal papers, 102 conference papers, 15 chapter of books, etc. Prof. Romdhane Karoui is an Editor or member of the Editorial Board for several journals. He is nominated in 2016 to receive the Cambridge certificate for outstanding scientific achievement and recognized, in 2020, as an ExpertScape World Expert in Food Analysis, etc. Romdhane Karoui is known for his significant contribution to the basic and applied knowledge of food quality and authenticity in relation to food structure. His Hirsch index is of 40 (Scopus 06/2023). During his career, Romdhane Karoui has coordinated more than 100 public and private projects related to the determination of the quality and authenticity of food products by different analytical techniques coupled with chemometric tools.

Bazyli Czyżewski & Łukasz Kryszak

Bazyli Czyżewski, born in 1977, Ph.D.(hab.) full professor, lecturer and researcher in Poznań University of Economics and Business, Department of Macroeconomics and Agricultural Economics: www.bazyliczyzewski.pl; ORCID; ResearchGate; Scopus; Google Scholar; He received PhD. in 2006, professor degree (habilitation) in 2013 and full professor title in 2019 in the discipline of economics. Author or co-author of over 170 scientific publications He conducts research in the field of sustainable development economics,environmental economics, agricultural economics, institutional economics, and macroeconomics concerning i.a. economic policies, political rents, sustainable agriculture, public goods, theory of value, and efficiency analyses.

 

 

Łukasz Kryszak, works as an Assistant Professor at Poznan University of Economics and Business, also in the Department of Macroeconomics and Agricultural Economics. His main research areas include relations between economic and environmental aspects of farm functioning, income and finance of farming sector in the EU, productivity and efficiency analysis in agriculture, and behavioural aspects motivating farmers decision making process. In his work, he uses mostly quantitative methods, including panel regression models, and DEA-based efficiency calculations.

 

The authors publish in such journals as among others: Environmental Science & Policy, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Impact Assessment Review, Land Use Policy, Sustainability Science, Outlook on Agriculture. Recently, they published together a book entitled Sustainable Agriculture Policies for Human Well-Being. Integrated Efficiency Approach (Springer Nature).

Małgorzata Wiśniewska

Małgorzata Z. Wiśniewska, full professor, lecturer and researcher at The University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Management, Sopot, Poland.  She is the head of the Department of Sustainability and Quality Sciences. Her habilitation degree (2005) was focused on farm-to-table food safety management issues, while her professorship (2017) was devoted to the topic of systemic management of food defense against terrorism. She is the first author in Poland to deal with the problems of food defense, food safety culture, and just culture in the food industry. She has published in such international journals as e.g. British Food Journal, Food Research International, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, TQM Journal, and Central European Management Journal. She is the author/coauthor of more than 220 publications, including nearly 20 monographs. She has promoted five PhDs. Currently, she is the coordinator for Poland in an international project entitled „Unraveling the dark kitchen: consumer perception, mapping, and food safety profile” financed by The São Paulo Research Foundation, FAPESP, Brasil (No. 2022/10468-9).

Eva Waginger

Eva Waginger studied International Economics at the WU Vienna, specialising in Technology and Commodity Science. Her academic background also includes studies in biology and agricultural sciences. She graduated from WU Vienna in 1986 with a thesis on energy analysis in crop production. She started her academic career at the Institute of Botany and Food Sciences, University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, where she worked on food analysis, pharmaceuticals, renewables and ecological issues. In 1994 she returned to WU Vienna and became Assistant Professor at the Institute of Technology and Commodity Science (Chair: Prof. Gerhard Vogel), where she remained until its closure in 2012. During this time, she was a visiting professor at commodity science institutes at the universities of Poznan, Varna, Bucharest, Bari, Sofia, Krakow, Cluj and Moscow. For many years she was Secretary General of the IGWT (International Society of Technology and Commodity Science), co-editor of the journal FORUM WARE and, together with Professor Koziol, of FORUM WARE International. She has helped to organise a number of international IGWT conferences. In 2012 she joined the Institute for Multi-Level Governance and Development at the WU Vienna, where her research and teaching focused on sustainable production and consumption. She has produced 75 publications, led or co-led 12 research projects and gave 65 science to science/professional presentations. She is an expert of the European Commission and, after her retirement in 2019, she is documenting the history of commodity science as a senior researcher in the WU University Archives.

Paulo Sampaio

Paulo Sampaio is a Professor of Quality and Organizational Excellence, University of Minho and International Advisory on Quality, Improvement and Innovation Programs. His research activities are developed under the Industrial Engineering and Management Research Line of the ALGORITMI Research Centre. Always privileging research and development for industrial applications, Prof. Paulo Sampaio has been involved in several R&D projects supported by Portuguese Institutions and under European funding programs, namely, INNOVCAR (12.754.548,62€); iFACTORY (9.246.492,55€); HMIExcel (5.110.000,00€); ADM.IN (2.159.924,31€). He coordinates several research projects on Quality and also supervises several researchers (Postdoctoral, PhD Students, Master Students and Visiting Researchers). Prof. Sampaio has supervised with success 6 PhD students and more than 100 Master students. He has co-authored or authored more than 200 publications, 160 of them ISI/Scopus indexed papers. He is the Coordinator of the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence at the University of Minho and the Head of the Department of Production and Systems at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho. Prof. Paulo Sampaio is also an elected member of the Scientific Council of the School of Engineering at the University of Minho as well of the Board of the University of Minho, and the Director of the Doctoral Program in Advanced Engineering Systems for Industry at the University of Minho. At the American Society for Quality, Prof. Paulo Sampaio was member of the Board of Directors (2019-20; 2021-22) and is the current Chair of the Feigenbaum Medal Committee. Prof. Paulo Sampaio was distinguished with many awards including the Best Paper Presented in the Student Technical Paper Competition during the ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement, the best presentation in the European Organization of Quality Congress, the Feigenbaum Medal (ASQ). He has been an Academician of the International Academy for Quality since 2014. In 2015 Paulo was included in the Group of Best Reviewers of the Total Quality Management and Business Excellence Journal (2010-2014).

Marian Gorynia

Economist, full professor, academic teacher at the Poznań University of Economics and Business (PUEB), specialist in international economics, international business and economic theory. Former rector of the PUEB (2008-2016); since 2019, a member of the PUEB University Council. Since 2019, deputy chairman of the Council for Scientific Excellence. He is the president of the Polish Economic Society and  corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is the author or co-author of over 500 publications. He completed numerous internships at foreign institutions e.g. Lyon II University, Trent University Nottingham, University of Social Sciences in Toulouse, Georg August University of Göttingen and Harvard Business School. He is a member of editorial committees and program boards of many excellent scientific journals, and the editor-in-chief of the journal „Ekonomista”. He is a member of many national and international scientific organizations, including the European International Business Academy, the International Management Development Association, and the Academy of International Business. He has received many grants and awards, among others: the awards of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Fryderyk Skarbek award of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the field of economics, award of the Committee of Organization and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and prof. Edward Lipiński award of the Polish Economic Society. He is a doctor honoris causa of the University of Białystok (2019).
